Red Wollywogs are fiery relatives of the Yellow Wollywog. They have burning, red skin, and grey eyes. When approached by prey, such as Pikmin or leaders, a Red Wollywog will produce a somber groaning noise before making short hops towards them to make contact with them and set them ablaze. This particular amphituber won't crush Pikmin, and Red Pikmin are most effective against them.

The Crimson Wollywog is a fire-based amphituber appearing in Pikmin: Ultimate Doom. Its appearance is as its name describes: it has bright red skin, light pink legs, and yellow eyes. The Crimson Wollywog sits in one place until Pikmin or leaders approach too closely, upon which it will leap into the air and attempt to land on top of them. However, when the Crimson Wollywog lands, it unleashes a ring of fire that ignites all but Red Pikmin, making it a dangerous foe. It can be attacked using any Pikmin, even Purple Pikmin, but be ready to take action when it jumps.

The Fiery Wollywog appears in Pikmin: Wide World as an amphituber that is perpetually cloaked in fire. Although the Young Fiery Wollywog is encountered, no respective wogpole of it is. They, much like most amphitubers, sit idly, either on dry land or in water. When in water, only the submerged portion of the Fiery Wollywog's body will be extinguished, which is often not enough to prevent Blue Pikmin from catching fire as they attempt to attack it. When it detects a leader or their Pikmin approaching, a Fiery Wollywog will turn in place to face them, only jumping towards them if they get any closer. However, Fiery Wollywogs can be snuck up on and attacked, much like with Yellow Wollywogs. If a Fiery Wollywog is led too far away from its original position, it will make short hops back to it, leaving flames in its wake that extinguish on their own after some seconds have passed. Fiery Wollywogs will also leave patches of flames on the ground where they currently are, which stay until some seconds have passed since they've been in that spot. A Fiery Wollywog can inflate its throat in mid-air to float for a random but brief amount of time before landing, adding an extra challenge in battles against this flaming amphituber.
Fiery Wollywogs logically bear a strong resemblance to Young Fiery Wollywogs, having orange skin, red eyes, and a strange orange-and-brown coloration on the tops of their bodies. Fiery Wollywogs have the same body shape and size as Yellow Wollywogs.
Because Fiery Wollywogs are perpetually on fire, Red Pikmin are almost required to defeat one. A quick, effective, and simple technique for taking down a Fiery Wollywog is to sneak up behind it with a moderate group of Red Pikmin, piling them onto the creature when close enough to it. Swarming an amphituber is never recommended as it can have dire consequences. If sneaking up on it isn't possible, killing a Fiery Wollywog the usual way, by throwing Pikmin onto it while it is on the ground and calling them off just before it lands and throws them off, is possible. If desperate times call for desperate measures, Rock Pikmin can be used to kill a Fiery Wollywog. They will do damage but also catch fire, and must be whistled to extinguish them. Having Purple Pikmin pound on a Fiery Wollywog's back will also inflict plenty of damage to the creature and possibly stun it, but they will also catch fire and must be whistled to save them. Upon death, a Fiery Wollywog will drop × 7 and its body will become extinguished, allowing any Pikmin type to carry it. On the surface, its corpse can be taken to either the Master Onion for seven Pikmin seeds or the Dolphin Lander for
× 5. Underground, a Fiery Wollywog's body can be taken to the Lander Pod to either immediately receive
× 5 or be saved for later to receive seven Pikmin seeds of any discovered color of choice when the cave is exited using an escape geyser.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This creature seems to be a yellow wollywog that, for whatever reason, evolved to constantly produce a chemical that combusts upon contact with air. This chemical is secreted from its skin, causing it to be perpetually on fire. It would seem painful, but the fiery wollywog seems acclimated to the sensation of burning alive.”
Shacho's notes
- “Just like the little version of this creature, it can maybe be used to light up Hocotate Freight's buildings if the power goes out... if it doesn't burn down everything first. But, that would mean everything would be lit up, right?”
Marie's notes
- “As cute as fiery wollywogs are and as much as their warm coloration appeals to me, I have to say that I totally would not recommend having one as a pet. You can't give it affection unless you have a scorch guard, and more importantly, it would burn your house down and maybe even the entire neighborhood!”
Louie's notes
- “Throw out the cooking appliances, because this creature cooks itself into a fine roast! Simply cut open and enjoy.”
Dolphin Lander's notes
- “How, I wonder, does a creature like this, that is always on fire, enjoy life? We may not be able to sense it, but maybe it's a miserable lifeform. At least it isn't targeted by any predators... other than pikmin, of course.”
