First Step is the first stage of Pikmin: Spark's Challenge Mode. It has no special requirements to unlock and appears in the upper table, succeeded by Blue Hole. It is a medium-sized area featuring, as its main landmark, a large hollowed stump overlooking many small tunnels and bodies of water.

Overview

First Step is centered around a large pair of tree stumps linked together by either a bridge or Closing Boombloom depending on the variant. The first tree stump is larger than the second and shaped like a bowl, with a large wall surrounding the area. The second smaller stump lacks these barriers making it possible for your squad of Pikmin to fall of the stump and into the ground below. Below these stumps is a small open area with a courtyard on the south, north, and eastern portions of the area. The southern courtyard is a small hollow in the side of a mountain, with a tunnel allowing a shortcut between it and a larger stump. The northern courtyard is adjacent to the two stumps and features various verticle structures that allow access to the upper stump areas. Finally, the eastern courtyard is the largest and returns a medium-sized water area with a sandy bank on the edge of the said courtyard. In this body of water is a trio of small islands that allow non-Blue Pikmin to cross safely reminiscent of the row of islands from the Valley of Repose from Pikmin 2.
