The Fizzling Waddlepus is a flobbler encountered in Pikmin: Spark as its first boss. One is initially fought in Saltwater Glade but the rest serve as minibosses in other locations such as Fertile Savanna and Rust Labyrinth. It is a large, dark purple female Waddlepus covered in small boils. It typically sleeps in a mixture of warm mud and its mucus while its Waddlepus kin guards its den. The Fizzling Waddlepus in the Saltwater Glade guards a large piece of refuse that is needed to travel to the next area, although it can not be awoken and fought until its resting place is drained. To fight a Fizzling Waddlepus, Blue Pikmin must drain small pools of mud-mucus to lower platforms that Purple Pikmin must pound on to destroy, activating a water geyser and waking the creature. Fizzling Waddlepi stay in the center of their arena, spitting large purple bubbles that are attracted to Pikmin and leaders and, when close enough to them, burst to release a payload of lingering poison sludge. During the fight with the Fizzling Waddlepus in Saltwater Glade, this attack is incredibly dangerous because White Pikmin are unavailable. Swarming a Fizzling Waddlepus is an effective tactic against it. While almost any Fizzling Waddlepus can, at any time, spit balls that release Waddlepi upon colliding with a wall, Saltwater Glade's Fizzling Waddlepus can only begin doing so once it reaches one-quarter health.
In Ultra-Spicy Mode, all Fizzling Waddlepi are covered in a slippery toxic sludge that most Pikmin can't hold onto without being poisoned and White Pikmin can't keep a grip on. However, this coating comes off temporarily when the Fizzling Waddlepus is blowing bubbles, opening a window to attack. Additionally, Saltwater Glade's Fizzling Waddlepus begins using its Waddlepus ball attack starting when it reaches half-health rather than one-quarter health.
Saltwater Glade's Fizzling Waddlepus, upon defeat, yields the Engine Tracker, a Fitbit device that is worth × 600 and allows the ship to travel to the Cavern of Cobwebs. All other Fizzling Waddlepi, also upon death, yield a Crunch Manager, a bag clip worth × 275.
