Attacks Blows wind that deflowers Pikmin

The Flora Blowhog is an airborne blowhog appearing in Pikmin 2: New Year. It is a relative of the Withering Blowhog. It floats aimlessly through the air in its territory, stopping periodically to idle. When it sees Pikmin or leaders, a Flora Blowhog will move to a point away from their position, inhale, and blow wind onto them. It knocks down ill-equipped leaders and all Pikmin except Purple Pikmin caught in the attack and reduces the maturities of Pikmin it hits to the leaf stage. It will not perform its signature attack until it is far enough away from its targets and will continue backing away from them until so.

Although closely related to the Withering Blowhog, Flora Blowhogs strongly resemble Jamboree Blowhogs. They have a bulbous green body that has narrow, lime-colored bands spanning their length and pink, blue, and yellow markings dotted around their entirety. Beyond these features, Flora Blowhogs have beady, white eyes with large, black pupils, and a white trunk with several green whiskers underneath.

Flora Blowhogs are more a nuisance than a threat, even if their only attack can merely deflower Pikmin and push around and temporarily stun ill-equipped leaders and all Pikmin except Purple Pikmin. The optimal strategy against a Flora Blowhog is to wait until it inhales and then quickly move underneath it and begin throwing Pikmin rapidly onto its underside. The creature will have no time to react by the time it has finished its attack and will be forced to the ground as a result. Purple Pikmin are useful for this purpose because only one is necessary to bring it to the ground. Floral Blowhogs are almost completely helpless after being grounded, and the only way they can defend themselves is by shaking Pikmin off of itself, which it does only if Pikmin are on it, before returning to the air. While it rises, Pikmin should be thrown onto it as quickly as possible to bring it to the ground again and finish it off.
