The Giant Citrusy Breadbug is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Elemental Speciation. It is the giant variant of the Citrusy Breadbug. As with most giant breadbug variants, it has more health than its smaller variant, as well as a larger size and immunity from being injured by Pikmin that are not Purple Pikmin. In addition to its larger size, it has a longer body, being more rectangular in shape than square. As it moves about, the longer ends of its body wobble around slightly. Compared to its smaller counterpart, the electric powder it spreads behind itself covers a wide area and takes longer to disappear. Upon being slammed into the ship or an Onion, it remains flipped for a shorter time period than the regular Citrusy Breadbug.

This creature's scientific name is based on a combination of styfos, the greek word for tart, or bitter, and citrum, the latin word for citrus, or lemon. it also takes the secondary name of gigantus from the basic Giant Breadbug's scientific name.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This larger breadbug retains the blocky shape of its smaller relative, but I don’t know what the shape could be for, seeing as it only seems to hinder the breadbug. It could be to help it pack together more easily when sleeping in a communal den, but such a den has yet to be discovered, so that remains speculatory.

Louie's notes

You know what they say: you never can have too much of a good thing, especially when it comes to food. Invite all your friends over to enjoy the bounty whenever you manage to get your hands on one of these delectable, tangy beasts. Another upside is that you'll eventually develop a resistance to electric shocks due to the charge stored in this beast. Even if it is a health hazard, it's a worthy sacrifice to make!

Shacho's notes

It's almost like they wanted to get hunted and shipped away. I mean, look at that beautiful, square body, we could probably just tie these down to a freighter as-is, no packaging required, which would really cut down our bottom line.
