A pile of hay in Pikmin 3. |
Hay is an obstacle that is piled up against walls to serve as a ramp up to or down from a ledge. Laid in a tidy stack, Pikmin grab chunks off of it, one by one, like bridge fragments, and when they reach the wall that needs to be overcome, which is identified by the faint strands of hay on the ground, they toss their hay down, so that it piles up. In Pikmin 4, hay blocks paths and can be only destroyed by using fire starters to burn it and any adjacent hay.
