Attacks Blows wind

The Indigo Blowhog is an airborne member of the blowhog family. It appears in Pikmin 2: New Year and is a relative of the Puffy Blowhog. It floats idly about through the air in its territory. When Pikmin or leaders approach it, an Indigo Blowhog will turn its attention toward them and inhale for some seconds before blowing a strong gust of wind at them. This attack is not harmful on its own but can blow Pikmin and leaders into dangers such as enemies and hazards.

Indigo Blowhogs resemble large, striped balloons, having a bulbous body with a more slender trunk at the front. Their bodies feature alternating magenta and salmon-colored bands. On either side of an Indigo Blowhog's body, towards the front, is an eye with orange eyelids, white sclerae, and a black pupil. Below them, towards the middle of the body, are a row of four black dots. Below the foremost one of those dots are fins. Lastly, at the back of the creature's body, towards its top side, are elongated appendages that resemble spikes but are harmless to the touch.

Despite its size, an Indigo Blowhog is easy, although somewhat time-consuming, to kill. Its only attack is to blow Pikmin and leaders away from itself, and it can be grounded by having enough Pikmin, or a single Purple Pikmin, latched onto it at once. While grounded, its only form of defense is shaking Pikmin off of its body, although it will do this only if Pikmin are latched onto it. After some time on the ground, it will return to the air.
