Infusion

Infusion
Gameplay aspect

Infusion is the process of a hazard being imbued into an entity such as an enemy or Pikmin, or even an inanimate object. Naturally, infusion occurs most often with radiation, but can also happen with other hazards as well, and be induced by certain enemies. Entities that are infused with a hazard gain immunity against that particular hazard, and may be able to use it offensively, defensively, or constructively.

Infusion is a gameplay mechanic in Pikmin Rebirth wherein Pikmin can assume a temporary form by absorbing hazards they resist. Each Pikmin type has a form they can take related to what they resist; allowing the Pikmin to have a new ability in both combat as well as exploration simply by utilizing that hazard. Pikmin can be infused with their resisted hazard either by placing them into a special source of that hazard or manually through the use of a colored spray. Although infusion is a temporary effect, its duration can be extended by finding a certain upgrade that also improves their speed while infused, although infusion should always be used wisely.
