Appearing in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze, the Lavabathing Extendipede, true to its name, loves to rest on top of hot lava to heat up its fiery body. Normally curled up until approached, an awakened Lavabathing Extendipede will quickly charge from one pool of lava to another, leaving a trail of flames in its wake. At the end of its mad dash, it stops to rest on the lava for a few seconds before lighting up again and moving to another waypoint. While charging, a Lavabathing Extendipede can also eat up to three Pikmin while burning the rest, so remain cautious even if using Red Pikmin to attack this creature. The head is the one part of the Lavabathing Extendipede that is not on fire, so it can be attacked by any type of Pikmin, though using Red Pikmin is generally a safer option.
