Gameplay aspect

Levels are used to gauge a player's advancement, experience, and typically also skill in a game. This system, often relying on experience points, may be implemented in various ways, be it gradual permanent level increases to unlock various functionalities or a way to show statistical improvements.

In Pikmin Adventure, each player starts each stage at level one, and their level will advance by one for every three drops of nectars they collect, their attack strength also increasing. Depending on how high their level is, they regress by up to three levels each time they are knocked out, in turn dropping a certain amount of nectar, which can then be picked up by other players. The Olimar character initially starts with five leaf Pikmin but will have ten bud Pikmin by level five and fifteen flower Pikmin by level ten and onwards. Pikmin characters also mature from leaf to bud and then from bud to flower at the same levels.

In Pikmin Bloom, a player's level increases as they accomplish defined tasks such as walking enough steps, planting enough flowers, completing enough expeditions, and more. By advancing a level, items are rewarded and sometimes new Pikmin are unlocked.
