In Pikmin Eco, the Mossy Skitter Leaf is a leaf-disguising relative to the more common Skitter Leaf and seems to be a middle stage between that and the Desiccated Skitter Leaf. It disguises itself as a pile of leaves lying on the ground, the patterns mirroring that of dry leaves but still holding the same greenish coloration. On being approached, it will jump up and run away. The edged front legs allow it to run along walls and ceilings to escape attackers, a trait not seen in other skitterlings.

- “This skitterling species is a middle-evolving species between the more common Skitter Leaf and the Desiccated Skitter Leaf, according to the overall anatomy. They have specialized barbs on their front legs, giving them excellent friction to climb up flat surfaces. Seeing the result of the Desiccated Skitter Leaf, this special trait possibly only evolved in specialized locations, whereas specimens elsewhere lack this ability.”
