In Pikmin X: Deep Freeze, Oily Crawmads are light pinkish-orange in color and are actually crawmad nymphs whose exoskeleton has not fully hardened. They do not have a lot of health but generally appear in groups, functioning like turrets, often in the safety of pools of water.

The Oily Crawmad is a subspecies of the Hermit Crawmad appearing in Pikspore. It has a green shell and a gray body. The Oily Crawmad never leaves its burrow, instead choosing to partially emerge from it and launch globs of oil at passersby. This oil, if it gets on the active leader, will cover the screen with black splotches and make it difficult to see what is happening in-game. The oil disappears after a few moments. Pikmin that stray too close to the Oily Crawmad's burrow will be eaten by the creature. Fortunately, its exoskeleton is nowhere near as tough as its relative, so Pikmin can attack any part of its body.
