Pikmin 2: Man-at-Legs Testing Facility, a Pikmin 2 ROM hack made by ProfessionalNubTub and Sleepy Jirachi, is the seventh and final ROM hack released during PikHacks Week. It was released on May 1st, 2022 as a digital download and playable on computers. It features several music tracks from Pikmin 2, but introduces some new boss themes. Captain Olimar and Louie venture into a cave, defeating several Man-at-Legs variants on their way to the bottom. There are five difficulties that each drastically change the gameplay, and because each difficulty is its own Challenge Mode stage, failure of any kind forfeits any progress that has been made.

In addition to a gameplay trailer, Pikmin 2: Man-at-Legs Testing Facility has some custom music tracks, although they are currently unavailable to listen to.

Gameplay

Because the game's content is in the format of Challenge Mode stages, defeating the boss of every sublevel is required to advance to the next, as each one has The Key, a treasure necessary to reveal the hole to the next sublevel and progress.

Difficulties

Pikmin 2: Man-at-Legs Testing Facility has five difficulty levels, each progressively providing fewer Pikmin and ultra-spicy sprays at the start. They are:

  • Bahbee mode – the easiest difficulty, providing thirty flowered Yellow Pikmin, ten flowered Purple Pikmin, and four ultra-spicy sprays at the start. It trivializes every fight but also restricts access to slightly under half of the bosses.
  • Novice mode – the standard difficulty. Fifty budded White Pikmin and two ultra-spicy sprays are provided at the start, and Yellow Pikmin are found late into the cave.
  • Hard mode – a more challenging difficulty that provides fifteen leafed Red Pikmin and a single ultra-spicy spray. Fewer additional Pikmin are found as progress is made.
  • Harder faster mode – a very challenging difficulty that provides twenty leafed pikpik carrots, no ultra-spicy sprays, and fewer additional Pikmin as progress is made. Additionally, a timer is present to give a sense of urgency, although time is added as sublevels are passed.
  • Masochist mode – the most challenging difficulty. It provides only a mere three leafed Purple Pikmin at the start and no ultra-spicy sprays. Considerably fewer additional Pikmin are found as progress is made, the timer covers the entire cave rather than a single sublevel, and some fights are changed to be more difficult than normal.
