The Poisonous Beetle is a scarab beetle appearing in Pikmin: The After Years. Differently from Anode Beetles, their spots are purple and they emit a jet of poison gas from their rear ends when two of them meet. This attack will endanger all exposed Pikmin except White Pikmin. Throwing a Pikmin on top of one will flip it over and render it vulnerable until it rights itself. Thrown Purple Pikmin may flip multiple of these beasts because of the shockwaves they create upon landing.
