In Pikmin: Dual Worlds, the Ranging Excalivlet is a subspecies of the Knightivlet that has thicker, paler hair and wields a pair of short blades, one thicker and the other small and thin, which it has many of stashed away in its hair. The smaller blades are often used for throwing, whereas the larger blade is used for close-range combat. This species can change its hair color to help blend in with the motley greens of the forest, make themselves scarce in a snowy area, and cease to be seen in the middle of a desert. They can be encountered at Feverpitch Forest+, sometimes battling against the Forte Grousp, and are in fact the only being capable of defending against its powerful swinging attacks, by crossing their blades to provide more leverage against it. They will, however, flee in the presence of a Gumball Aristocrab, as there isn't much they can do against its large, spherical claw.
