The Rebel Mushroom Pikmin is a Pikmin in Pikmin 1 that is created as the result of a glitch involving a Puffstool infecting Pikmin with spores to turn them into Mushroom Pikmin. Contrary to regular Mushroom Pikmin, Rebel Mushroom Pikmin aid leaders and attack enemies, including the Puffstool responsible for their current state.

Rebel Mushroom Pikmin appear in Pikmin: The Dawn of Petals as a variation of Mushroom Pikmin, included as an intentional feature. If a Puffstool doesn't spray its spores correctly, all Pikmin in range become Rebel Mushroom Pikmin, and the Puffstool can not perform any action for five seconds. Rebel Mushroom Pikmin are immune to spores, attack enemies as normal, and try to kill normal Mushroom Pikmin. They retain the attributes of the Pikmin they once were even after returning to normal upon the death of the related Puffstool.
