The Scrambled Titan Dweevil is the final boss of Pikmin 251. It is a humongous dweevil found on the final sublevel of the Doom Den. It is a close relative of the Titan Dweevil, and like the Titan Dweevil, the Scrambled Titan Dweevil has four unique weapons at its disposal that it uses to kill Pikmin: the Fume Cannon, which is a version of the Flare Cannon that emits poisonous flames; the Paralysis Bomb, which is a version of the Comedy Bomb that produces electrically-charged poison; the Scalding Pump, which is a version of the Monster Pump that spews hot water which sets Pikmin ablaze; and the Suffocation Therapist, a version of the Shock Therapist that causes Pikmin to drown. The Scrambled Titan Dweevil is originally found buried under the ground, using the treasures it carries as a disguise, with Olimar sitting on top of it. When Louie, the ship, and their Pikmin approach the pile, however, the Scrambled Titan Dweevil unearths itself and begins the final battle. It walks considerably quickly and requires swift movement to maneuver around.

The Scrambled Titan Dweevil itself has an appearance identical to that of the Titan Dweevil, being a large dweevil with four long legs connected to the top of its large main body. On its face are seven eyes, two of which constantly changing color, and a pair of mandibles tipped with red bristles. While it still has its weapons, it is covered in a shiny exoskeleton. When its weapons are removed, however, this exoskeleton breaks off to reveal pale skin.

The Scrambled Titan Dweevil is challenging not only because of its ability to use fire, electricity, poison, and water, but because of how each of its weapons use a different elemental hazard than the original versions did. Its weapons can be taken down in any order, but using Yellow Pikmin to fight it and removing the Paralysis Bomb last is the optimal strategy. Using this strategy, it is recommended that the Scrambled Titan Dweevil's weapons be removed in this order, which is based on general range and lethality: the Scalding Pump, Suffocation Therapist, Fume Cannon, and lastly the Paralysis Bomb. The Paralysis Bomb is the most potentially devastating weapon to a mixed group of Pikmin, as it has the reach of the Comedy Bomb and the lethality of the Shock Therapist. But since only Yellow Pikmin are being used, it is harmless. The use of ultra-spicy sprays, as well as a high number of Yellow Pikmin, will speed up the fight considerably. When all of its weapons have been removed, the Scrambled Titan Dweevil will lose its armor and become vulnerable to attack. It drops Olimar upon defeat, who must be carried back to the Dolphin Pod.

Olimar's observations

Ugh... Louie made me write for this thing during our trip home despite me telling him I'd rather not. I don't appreciate having to ride home in the cargo hold while he pilots MY SHIP home! Anyway, the Scrambled version of the Titan Dweevil is a master of trickery. It's weapons all have bizarre effects that don't act the way they look, as well as it being able to manifest terrain based on the memories of what it is holding onto, in our case, me. Anyway, I'm not going to talk about this anymore, some things are best kept a secret...

Cookin' with Louie

Even after cutting the legs off, this creature still wriggles around helplessly. Personally I like to taunt the creature by eating it's legs raw right in front of it's face. It's an amazing feeling.

The Scrambled Titan Dweevil appears in Pikmin Evolution as a rare boss enemy. Its color and facial features are a near inversion of those of its close relative, the Titan Dweevil; it has a dark brown carapace and pale blue flesh, and perhaps most grotesquely, the positions of its eyes and mouth are swapped. Aside from that, its body structure is mostly the same, as are its behaviors.

What separates the Scrambled Titan Dweevil from the Titan Dweevil, however, is its selection of weapons, which are the Sludge Cannon, Magma Pump, Drowning Therapist, Icicle Bomb, Volt Emulsifier, and Smog Duster, which are, respectively, alternate versions of the Flare Cannon, Monster Pump, Shock Therapist, Comedy Bomb, Sludge Emulsifier, and Frost Duster. Instead of being armed with all six weapons, it will only have a selection of four random different ones. Each of the Scrambled Titan Dweevil's weapons is a derivative of the Titan Dweevil's, though the Scrambled Titan Dweevil utilizes different strategies as each weapon uses a different hazard from its relative's. The Sludge Cannon expels a cone of corrosive sludge, with the cone becoming twice as wide when the cannon is half-damaged. The Magma Pump, as the name suggests, shoots balls of molten rock that become pools of burning lava upon landing, which becomes more hazardous due to the addition of exploding bubbles in it when the weapon becomes half-damaged. The Drowing Therapist creates bubbles that chain together in a watery net, drowning anything who crosses it, and the net becomes bigger when the device becomes half-damaged. The Icicle Bomb unleashes streams of icy mist that can clump into frosty crystals, blocking movement, and the mist becomes thicker when the weapon is half-damaged. The Volt Emulsifier produces a bomb that explodes into various lightning bolts, which become more numerous when the weapon is half-damaged. Lastly, the Smog Duster scatters spores that transform Pikmin into Puffmin, and the transformation lasts longer when the weapon is half-damaged.

All these factors make the Scrambled Titan Dweevil more complicated to fight than the regular Titan Dweevil, but aside from that, the strategy is largely the same. Use the appropriate Pikmin types to damage and detach its four weapons for the creature to become defenseless, then attack its exposed body until it is slain. What truly makes up for the tougher fight is the rewards, as the weapons dropped by the Scrambled Titan Dweevil are much more valuable than the standard Titan Dweevil's in terms of Sparklium yield. Overall, the Scrambled Titan Dweevil is a tough but rewarding opponent to face.

Ivy's journal

Scientists are divided on whether to count this species as separate from the Titan Dweevil or just another mutation of it. One side argues that it should be separate as both species have yet to be found wielding each other's stash of weaponry. The other side argues that the genome is too similar for both species to warrant them having separate classifications. Personally, I don't really care and I believe that this is only diverting research on studying such a fascinating species.

Leni's recipe book

Unfortunatly inedible. If the Titan Dweevil was a rare delicacy, then this is awfully fitting as a bland inedible trough, kind of eerie to be honest.

Marvin's strategy guide

It may utilize different strategies from its close relative, but it shares the same pitfalls from that same relative, that being each weapon having a specific counter, so still take advantage of such a fact.
