Spiked pinecones are pine cones that resemble boulders covered with spikes. They roll about in the places that contain them, crushing anything in their way. They can kill any Pikmin they touch and harm leaders. Some appear continuously from one point, fall down through the whole path, and disappear when they reach the bottom, while others roll back and forth in a confined space, never losing their momentum.

In Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid, spiked pinecones are primarily spat out by the Squirrely Gumbidru, and they roll around its arena to crush Pikmin. In addition to this, there are also spiked nuts, which are a smaller counterpart to the spiked pinecone. They resemble a cross between a conker and a rambutan, with the former's shape and the latter's color. They are often spat out by Nutty Gumbobies.
