The Spurious Snout is a metal object in Pikmin Forever, and one of the most common metal objects in the game. It is a zipper slider with a plastic handle in one of three colors. It can appear many times throughout the game, either sparsely scattered throughout areas or appearing randomly from defeated enemies. No instance of the Spurious Snout has a set location, and they can appear every day. As such a common metal object, it has a weight of 1, and only 1 Pikmin can carry it. It is also only 5 units worth of metal, the lowest value in the game.

- “The ship believes this was once a mechanism in some ancient light fixture. Personally I think it was part of an old irrigation system. But we agree it must have been important for its appendage to be so vibrant. What if it this is a switch to some horrendous mechanized weapon? Have we saved the day by salvaging it or doomed the planet as we know it? ...I think I'll just stick with my irrigation theory, that's much safer.”
