Syrups are a consumable item in Pikmin Evolution that take the form of a thick viscous fluid, similar in texture to marmalade or jam, and act as a substitute for sprays. Syrups are collected by breaking the shell of a Hanging Cocoberry plant and harvesting the pulp within for self-use. Syrups come in many different colors, eight in total, with each syrup containing a compound that triggers an elemental effect when exposed to air. For safekeeping, syrups are stored within round capsules that are carried and tossed by the captains, and when the capsule hits a surface, it ruptures, releasing the syrup and triggering its effects.

Red syrups ignite in the air, burning anything that touches it. Yellow syrups create an electronic pulse, zapping anything in the blast radius and activating nearby machinery. Blue syrups are very watery and can be used to extinguish fires and trigger plant growth. Purple syrups are a known carcinogen and breathing it in can badly poison anything in the blast radius as well as turn water into acid. Green syrups are highly acidic and can melt materials such as metal and crystals as well as disintegrate enemy armor. Cyan syrups are cold to the touch, and tossing them can freeze water and creatures solid and can also be used to cool down hot items. Orange syrups are highly volatile and act as the equivalent of bomb rocks, sharing the same effects. Lastly, gray syrups contain a silicon-like substance that hardens, creating crystal-like structures to trap enemies and make makeshift walls.

Syrup plants can also be created in settlements with sparklium and the proper materials depending on the type of syrup being created; most notably, the seed of the syrups' respective species of Hanging Cocoberry, which is dropped by defeating a Foolix of the respective color. Syrup-producing plants can produce one syrup each at the end of every night, and when destroyed during a raid, explode into a highly concentrated version of the original syrup's effects. For instance, a red syrup plant will create a fiery explosion and a green syrup plant will create an acidic explosion. Some explosions will do more harm to settlements than the monsters attacking them, so care must be taken in the placement and maintenance of syrup plants. Overall, syrups are highly useful, but in some cases are just as risky items to use and should be treated with caution.

Syrups are a type of consumable item that comes in two varieties: teal, ultra-tangy syrup, and yellow, ultra-sweet syrup. In contrast with the more watery sprays, which affect Pikmin and enemies, syrups have a consistency similar to molasses and benefit leaders. Syrups can be obtained by harvesting the fruit of a Hanging Cocoberry, defeating enemies that don't leave a corpse, smashing eggs, and from some Teal Candypop Buds and Golden Candypop Buds.

As with sprays, using syrups is as simple as pressing a direction on the D-pad; in the case of syrups, pressing left or right will consume one dose of syrup. Unlike sprays, which affect the user's surroundings, syrups benefit the user directly and give them temporary buffs. Ultra-sweet syrup offers increased walking speed and throw rate and can be used by pressing left on the D-pad. Ultra-tangy syrup provides leaders with improved defense, restores the health meter of its user, and can be used by pressing right on the D-pad.
