The Treetle is a boss appearing in Pikmin: The After Years, in two separate locations: Green Garden and Remembrance Ravine. It is a giant brown turtle with thorns on its head and brilliant green moss covering its back. It bears a remarkable resemblance to Torterra from the Pokémon franchise and is unique as it is the only boss enemy to have plant life growing on it. Moreover, its name, Treetle, is a portmanteau of the words "tree" and "turtle". The large tree on its back bears chestnuts that fall as it moves. It can crush Pikmin and leaders, but moves very slowly.

As its shell is covered in rocks and thick moss that can not be penetrated even by Purple Pikmin, the only way to harm a Treetle is by attacking its soft underbelly. To do so, get a fallen chestnut, and wait for the creature to move its feet. Then, as it rears up, throw the chestnut at its face. This will make it lose balance for a few seconds, and hitting its face two more times with a walnut will flip it over onto its back and struggle to right itself. Fortunately, chestnuts can be used up to three times before they break. While the Treetle is vulnerable, throw Pikmin, preferably Purple Pikmin, onto its belly. After about five seconds have elapsed, the Treetle will right itself and then briefly stomp about at a rapid pace. While enraged, the creature can also summon Twiggies, and use vines on its back to grab Pikmin and smash them against walls. Repeat the process and, eventually, the Treetle should be no more.

The Treetle also has a dark matter-infused variant, which is known as the "Dark Treetle". The Dark Treetle appears only in the Galactic Warpzone, the final cave, and it is a much stronger version of the Treetle that has much more health, faster and deadlier attacks, and the ability to use a new, unique attack in addition to its existing ones.
