The Unfamiliar Valley is the first area in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. An arid, sandy region with some oases here and there, located near a vast salt pan. In spite of these harsh conditions, it is quite placid and provides the setting for the first days of the adventure, with the rest of the region being blocked off until more Pikmin types have been discovered. Red Pikmin are found here at the beginning, while Yellow Pikmin can be found on a return visit after Rock Pikmin are discovered. Vegetation here includes but is not limited to cacti, low-growing desert grasses, and other hardy plants.
Alongside the Anti-Corrosion Armor, data chips A and B are located here.
