Shearwoods are large mandiblards that are made of wood and appear in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet. One is the boss of Oak Cave, the third cave explored, and afterward are found as rare enemies. They attack by eating Pikmin and dropping logs onto them to crush them. They have a large health pool and can summon Male Sheargrubs to assist them, but move slowly and should not be a threat if attacked from the rear. It takes to the air when its health is low, and only Yellow Pikmin can reach it then.
