Attacks | Skewers and eats Pikmin |
The Yellow Spotted Burrow-nit is a close relative of the Cloaking Burrow-nit that appears in Pikmin 251. It behaves much like a Cloaking Burrow-nit, but moves and attacks at a fast pace, making it more dangerous. The Yellow Spotted Burrow-nit can be found burrowed halfway into the ground with only its back half showing. When approached by leaders or Pikmin, however, it will unearth itself and begin attacking them. When it gets close enough, a Yellow Spotted Burrow-nit will thrust its proboscis into anything in front of it and eat the Pikmin is skewered, if any.
Yellow Spotted Burrow-nits bear a strong resemblance to Cloaking Burrow-nits. Their skin is gray, and their eyes are red. Their proboscis and legs are also tipped in red. They each have a purplish shell that has two yellow eyespots on it, which gives the creatures their name.
Swarming Pikmin into a Yellow Spotted Burrow-nit's face is the most effective tactic against it. Its health will drain rapidly, and even if it does manage to skewer a Pikmin, the Yellow Spotted Burrow-nit will die before it has the opportunity to eat it.
Notes
Olimar's observations
- “This creature bears a strong resemblance to the Cloaking Burrow-nit we saw last time, but is noticeably more agile and aggressive. While they weren't too intimidating before, it's much more important that we take them seriously now.”
Cookin' with Louie
- “The soft meat of this creature has a unique taste that's almost fruit-like, best eaten raw.”
