The Dawn Den is the first cave explored in the Stargazer's Grasslands, and the first explored in Pikmin: Dusk and Dawn. Due to its position as the tutorial cave, much like the Emergence Cave from Pikmin 2, it is short and quite simple. It consists of three sublevels, two of them holding a treasure.
How to reach
When first landing in the Stargazer's Grasslands, a short walk forward will get the leaders to the cave's entrance. It is found in a small alcove, inside an empty pot.

During the first expedition into the cave, the leaders will receive their first strange transmission, a special event triggered at certain parts of the story or finding a secret such as a hidden room or backtracking to later areas. This sublevel houses the first two Violet Candypop Buds to be found, both yielding five Purple Pikmin, for a total of ten, which can be used to easily defeat the three resident Red Bulborbs. The Purple Pikmin also grant access to the end of the cave, as the paper bag in the way can only be compressed with the weight of at least fifty Pikmin.
