The Revengeful Crawbster is a creep-crab appearing in Pikmin SP, fought only at the bottom of the Palace of History, the penultimate cave, making its one of the rarest creatures in the game. It is, in reality, the same Segmented Crawbster fought during the events of Pikmin 2, although now battered and sickly as a result of its loss against the Pikmin, which it has learned from, a display of heightened intelligence. The Revengeful Crawbster now feels only hatred towards Pikmin and leaders and uses new techniques and strategies against them to get its revenge.

...WHAT!?! This is not possible...! If my sensors are correct... this is the EXACT same Crawbster we fought a long time ago in that one chaotic cavern. But how is this possible!? The Crawbster should've been dead! Is there some mysterious force resurrecting fallen enemies...? – The ship, upon discovering the Revengeful Crawbster

The Revengeful Crawbster is a species of creep-crab in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large beast resembles the Segmented Crawbster, however, it is much larger and has a scar across its face. Very oddly, the large creature has a red bandana around its head segment, and its larger arm has grown even more in size. The boss is then revealed to be the Segmented Crawbster fought in the Cavern of Chaos in Pikmin 2. The creature reveals itself by falling from above, then commencing the battle. The battle takes place on a large, round platform surrounded by walls. The platform constantly ascends, large razor rotors propelling it upwards into the sky.

The Crawbster is much more powerful and cunning, aiming to not make the same mistakes as it did in the previous battle. A new attack of the Crawbster is slamming its large arm onto Pikmin, crushing and killing them. Another attack is spitting numerous globs of acidic fluid onto the arena, instantly killing any non-White Pikmin that touch the resulting puddles. White Pikmin will merely be depetaled. Its signature attack of rolling to crush the Pikmin is much faster and more focused on the targeted leader. If the crab hits a wall, it will flip over, causing boulders falling from the sky, then immediately right itself. The Crawbster will then attempt to grab a nearby captain and perform a spin attack, flinging away Pikmin and possibly killing them. As does this, the creature will throw the captain into the air and slam them with its tail, flinging them far back and inflicting massive damage to them. A wall will become damaged when the Crawbster collides with it, and break if collided with more than once, creating an opening. Coaxing the beast through the open part of the wall will cause it to fall off and be hit by the razor rotors, flinging it back onto the arena, flipped on its side with its stomach exposed. After a bit, the crab will roll onto its stomach and smash the ground around itself, flinging and depetaling Pikmin caught in its attack. This process must be repeated numerous times, as the Crawbster has much more health than its original incarnation.

When killed, the Crawbster will spit out a treasure and presumably die, but then be resurrected and disappear in a beam of light. Unbeknownst to Olimar and Louie, this act of supernatural phenomena was the work of the Overlord of All Lifeforms. Defeating the Revengeful Crawbster for the first time will grant the "A Higher Power" achievement.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Is this actually the Crawbster I once encountered in the Cavern of Chaos...? But how? Creatures can't just come back from the dead. There is definitely some sort of spiritual phenomenon working against us right now. Could it be the reason why we are constantly subject to organized attacks by the planet's animals at night? I am filled with a bigger sense of dread...

Louie's notes

Could not be eaten and presumably inedible.

President’s notes

If the ship is right... why is the Crawbster out for revenge? Maybe it's mad that we stole its treasure? I understand, I'd be furious too!
