The S.S. Nexus.

The S.S. Nexus is the main ship in Pikmin: Elements. It coincidentally has the shape of the S.S. Dolphin 2, despite being created by Drake, the owner of Koppai Industries, and before the S.S. Dolphin 2 was built. The S.S. Nexus is gray and dark blue, and, like the S.S. Drake, it has a spacious cockpit that leaders can be beamed up into. Overall, it is a rather large space vessel. It also has 2 Guard Satellites, an Anti-Dioxin Filter, a Crankshaft Cover, an Electromagnetic Shield, also called the Electro-Shield, 3 Omega Stabilizers, a Whimsical Radar, and turn signals. Additional include the Grand Opening Photo, Conductor Bolt, Stability Nut, Fuel Reservoir, and Titanium Crankshaft. Piloting the ship through deep space requires the use of its cosmic-drive key.

Dell claims the S.S. Nexus has too many attachments, citing how the 2 side antennae do not need lights because the Guard Satellites are adequate, making them extraneous. However, as the side antennae connect vital wires, he believes that is why the meteor that hit the ship did so much damage to it. On the upside, the Zirconium Rotor was merged into the Bowsprit, since there needed to be more room for the technology that worked intact with cosmic speed.

The S.S. Nexus, specifically model 1.2, is the main ship in Pikmin: Elements 2 and serves as a character. Dell branded the ship as his own, having installed a computer on it and given it artificial intelligence. The S.S. Nexus is more interested in the ancient creatures of PNF-404 rather than treasures and sometimes refuses to store some things the Pikmin bring to it, keeping them outside until Dell is ready to return home. One such treasure is the Used Cloth, which is a used band-aid. The S.S. Nexus does not technically have emotions of its own but copies how others react in the same scenarios. It doesn't have a defined gender but speaks in a feminine voice according to treasure notes.

The S.S. Nexus now sports an orange-and-gray paint job as opposed to its previous blue-and-white. It is a modest and renovated research rocket part of the Hocotate Alliance. It has improved optical receptors, able to see nearby enemies so it can alert Dell to their presence. Its Bowsprit is also opaque instead of partially transparent.

The S.S. Nexus appears on the HUD, beside Dell's portrait and health wheel, as an icon within a bubble of its own. The top half of the bubble indicates that Dell may be getting in the way of the Pikmins' work, and the bottom half shines when an object is delivered to it.

Moss does not respond to the ship as much as Dell, and when she does she is usually startled by its sudden speech. She is visibly disgusted when the S.S. Nexus questions Dell when he has Moss stored in its "precious cargo hold, which is no place for dogs".
