Clone Pikmin are the sixth Pikmin to be discovered. They have a strange ability to create a duplicate of themselves. This can only be done if they are commanded to do a task. This includes from battle to building a bridge, and all in between. Depending on their level of maturity, a Clone Pikmin will create a certain amount of clones. If a Clone Pikmin is a leaf, it'll create 1, if it's a bud, 2, if it has a flower, 3. However, if the Clone Pikmin is hit with a Sour Spray, it will create 4 clones. If it is a Spicy Spray, then it'll make 5 clones instead. The clones are semi-permanent. They will stick around until the original is whistled or killed, in which they'll turn into pollen and poof away. The clones can not be whistled. Their flower's pedals have a red color to them. The original is made to be an average Pikmin, however the clones have many resistances to make them more work efficient. If a clone is killed or dissapears, it does not count to the Pikmin death total.

"How fascinating, it turns out that the originals have the same markings as each other, while the clones have different types of markings not only from the original, but other clones as well. They are also quite shorter than the originals. This may be due to it making it easier to distinguish which one is the original, and which one is a clone. Each time I am here at this planet, I always find a new creature that becomes an interest of mine to research. This planet truly is a place of mystery...." - Captain Olimar

"For one minute, I'm just getting ready to attack a creature, and the next...POOF, there are more than I originally had! The creature in question is dead the next minute! I was astonish, I tell ya, it was amazing to see that happen...then the extra help disappears and I'm just at shock. Like a thief in the shadows. Quite interesting, ain't it?" - Tang

"One of the most efficient Pikmin, only beaten by Winged Pikmin! If only they could fly....sigh....but at least they're useful for most places still, so nothing to frown about. Maybe I'll try to see if I can make something cool for them to be able to fly! But then again, I don't know if jetpacks on something that will disappear is a good idea...I'll try anyways. Note: It wasn't a good idea." - Robin
