The Sunsquish is a mollusk-like creature that resembles a fried egg. They are typically found out in the open but are occasionally found within nectar eggs. When close enough to Pikmin and leaders, it attacks them by stretching its body upwards and then sprawling its membrane in a wide area around itself, shaking off any Pikmin attacking it as well as trapping Pikmin in its body to digest.

Mochi is the Sunsquish that appears in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. Mochi is an odd little creature, speaking with the voice and mannerisms of a child but actually being fully mature and older than they seem. They act cute and childlike and are very friendly toward everyone. They also seem to have an insatiable appetite, as they will jump on and digest nearly anything edible they come across through their slimy stomach. They seem especially fond of cute things, and are known to jump on anything they find cute and hold on tight in a sort of gooey hug.
Mochi's name is drawn from the Japanese name and internal name for the Sunsquish, both of which contain "mochi". "Mochi" is a traditional Japanese rice cake that bears some resemblance to the Sunsquish.
