The Haughty Aristocrab is a boss monster first appearing in Pikmin: Dimensional Breach.

in Pikmin: Dimensional Breach

In its debut, the Haughty Aristocrab is fought on the final floor of the Onionshell Nest, a dungeon in the Perplexing Tropics. However, on every day after Day 30, if the player has already completed the Onionshell Nest, the Haughty Aristocrab has a 1 in 7 chance every morning to appear as a boss, in the same area where the Yellow Onion was found.

Battle

Like many Aristocrabs, the Haughty Aristocrab is best fought using mainly a single type of Pikmin. In this case, the Haughty Aristocrab is best fought using Yellow Pikmin. It has two large, fleshy claws that it uses to grab and hold Pikmin before eating them; however, dealing continuous damage to the claws will force the creature to drop any Pikmin it's holding. Once it has used its eating Pikmin attack, either having successfully eaten Pikmin or been stopped, it will jump away from the active Captain and spit a spray of three to five balls of lightning, electrifying any Pikmin that aren't Yellow. When approached, the Haughty Aristocrab will hoist itself into the air, similar to other Aristocrabs dodging a Charge; in this state, only Yellow or Winged Pikmin will be able to reach it. If the player tries to Charge at the Haughty Aristocrab, it will not only dodge the Charge but counter by slamming its body down onto the swarm, crushing the unlucky Pikmin that tried to swarm it. Finally, after losing a third of its health, the Haughty Aristocrab will jump into the center of the arena and spit a stream of lightning in a circle; Yellow Pikmin will be fine, but any other color should hide behind the rocks near the edges of the arena for protection.

Upon dying, the Haughty Aristocrab will drop the Dream Material, which the Ship will refine into a new Anti-Electrifier. Its corpse can also be carried back to the Ship for an easy 25 Pokos, the most valuable of any corpse in the game.

Notes

Olimar's Observations

Haughty Aristocrab. Brachyurices regium. Onionshell family. Initially, it was presumed that Aristocrabs were a solitary species, and while that may be true of the Peeved and Peckish Aristocrabs in particular, it is far from the case for the other five variations. In an Aristocrab nest, the Haughty Aristocrab serves as the monarch and primary mate, filling a niche similar to the Empress Bulblax in a Bulborb colony. Not only are Provocative (and, in some cases, Jealous) Aristocrabs constantly on hand to mate with the monarch, Covetous Aristocrabs constantly bring them food, and the Peckish Aristocrabs serve as guards. In scenarios wherein a threat makes it past the multiple layers of lesser Onionshells, the Haughty Aristocrab has one last trick up its sleeve: its internal cilia can rub together to form static electricity, which combined with the creature's super-conductive saliva allows it to spit balls of electrified goo in self-defense.

Louie's Cookbook

Gut the gargantuan beast, remove the legs and claws, clean and turn the intestines inside-out, making sure to remove all of the fuzz from the inner surface. Run the main body of the beast, along with as much of the meat as you can salvage from the limbs, through a fine meat grinder, then form a farce using ice water and the ground meat in a food processor. Run this farce into the intestines, and twist into sausage links, then grill over a mesquite-fired barbecue. Add to a bun and apply generous helpings of mesquite grilled onions, jalapeno relish, and Southwestern Hoctwa's famous mango-lime salsa for a hot dog you won't soon forget!

Sagittarius' Taming Notes

Electrified spit aside, the Haughty Aristocrab mainly wouldn't be a good pet because it can't survive on its own. If you are going to get a Haughty Aristocrab, you will definitely need Covetous Aristocrabs to share food, Peckish Aristocrabs to keep them safe, and Provocative Aristocrabs to keep them company. Considering just how massive each of these creatures is, this makes them fairly impractical as pets, but perhaps a zoo would benefit from having an Aristocrab exhibit.

Libra's Fashion Notes

As gross as it is, the intestinal tract turned inside-out is just the right fluffiness to work as a fashionable scarf. If properly cleaned, it could even be repurposed as a lining for fine robes and coats.

Charlie's Battle Strategies

I honestly can't tell whether to envy this creature or pity it. On one hand, having an army at your disposal is a dream for any leader, but on the other, the Haughty Aristocrab in particular has become so dependent on its servants that, for all its prowess in combat, it cannot survive in the wild on its own. Regarding its ability to spit lightning, it may consider itself a god in that regard, but Yellow Pikmin are still the go-to foot soldiers for resisting its electrical onslaught. When it starts spraying a stream of electrified goo, it is recommended that all Pikmin that are not yellow take cover behind any barriers that happen to be around.

Derrick's Grimoire

The six legs of the Aristocrab should be pulled off, bent just so, and arranged into a six-pointed star on the ground, within a circle made from the creature's intestines. Place a candle at each point of the star, where two legs meet, and light each one, going clockwise from the northernmost point. Place a suitable offering, such as the heart of the very same Haughty Aristocrab, in the center and pray at the circle. If everything went right, the offering will rot at an accelerated rate, and the spirits that accepted your offering will grant you improved luck in the coming week.
