The Bashful Bombroot is a plant in Pikmin 5: Apex Predator with an orange flower on top and a bomb rock as the root. They sometimes grow aboveground but mostly reside in caves. They are the reason bomb rocks drop from the cave ceilings, as the bomb is the seed dropping to be planted. Bashful Bombroot plants serve as a warning that the next sublevel will have bomb traps, but they keep themselves hidden. Watch for them near the entrance of caves or in sublevels.

- “The Bashful Bombroot has a bizarre method of ensuring the survival of its descendants. It somehow seems to know when large groups of creatures are clumped together, and drops its bomb rock seed when they are standing directly under it. A successful drop kills a large amount of creatures, creating a pile of nutrients for the new plant in a place where they are few and far between.”
