The Holdfast Barbasucker is a small enemy that spends most of its time latched onto a wall. When approached, it will spit out a long tongue tipped with a spiked ball. The tip of the tongue will rest on the ground for several seconds before extending its spikes a good distance around itself, skewering nearby Pikmin in the process. The tongue itself is not sticky and will not harm Pikmin; only the spiked tip is dangerous. After a few seconds have passed, the Holdfast Barbasucker will re-absorb its tongue and eat any Pikmin attached; they can be saved by killing the creature before it can eat them. The creature itself is easily defeated by throwing Pikmin at it, as it isn't very mobile and can only weakly shake off attackers.
