The Ancient Bulblax is actually a very old Emperor Bulblax. Because it has a Burgeoning Spiderwort on its back, the berries fall off when the Ancient Bulblax lands. The berries burst on impact, and may briefly stun any Pikmin or Captains if they happen to be near the area of effect. The Ancient Bulblax is very old, so it has a weak voice. However, there is a rare chance that it will summon about twenty-five Mitites by roaring. It also has a large tongue, so it can eat up to forty Pikmin in one lick if the player is not careful. The Ancient Bulblax also creates a very large shockwave upon landing so it can either kill or stun Captains and Pikmin depending on where they are.
Appearance
The Ancient Bulblax has incredibly pasty, wrinkly skin that is complimented by dark chapped lips. A Burgeoning Spiderwort, along with multiple species of plants, grow on its back in copious amounts. The Ancient Bulblax also has mildly dull and worn claws. It also possesses a rough, sticky tongue which is used to eat high numbers of Pikmin.
Strategy
Treat the Ancient Bulblax as an Emperor Bulblax when fighting it. Notice, that it is the same size as the Emperor Bulblax from Pikmin 1. Be wary of its extra size.
The only noticeable differences is the extent of its ability to summon Mitites and the berries that occasionally fall. Be wary of the berries, as they burst into a cloud upon impact much like they do when used by a Captain. The Ultra Spicy Spray will prove itself as an advantage, but the Ultra Bitter Spray will temporarily petrify Olimar and his Pikmin.
