A subterranean menace. What may appear to be a mysterious blue light could in fact be one of the glowing fungi on this creature's back. Aside from the glowing blue fungi on the back, this creature is entirely black. That said, the back is still armored so one should attack the head. It has a glowing, blue tongue and is defeated the same way as an Emperor Bulblax in Pikmin 2. It is about the size of one of the smaller Emperor Bulblaxes in Pikmin 2.

This is a  version of the Emporer Bulblax, so use the same bomb rock technique used to kill a regular Emporer Bulblax. However, there is one very major change. Although it uses the same lick attack used by an Emporer Bulblax, the glowing tongue makes a difference. All your [[Pikmin]] will attract toward its tongue in the moment before it starts licking. This is very dangerous, so I'll tell you what to do: Stun it with [[Orange Pikmin]] and [[Bomb-rocks]]. After you have pummeled it during the time it is dazed, immediately get your pikmin out of the arena. Lure it to lick at you alone, and dodge. Then use orange pikmin and bomb rocks to stun it, and attack it again. Once it is up, get out the pikmin, lure it lick you, blah blah blah. Repeat this tactic until it is dead.

Olimar's notes

This is a subterranean version of the Emporer Bulblax, and sports the familiar rocky hide. However, it has glowcaps growing on its back insteaad of the regular plantlife. Due to being in subterranean environments, it has a dark skin coloration. Through a striking form of bioluminesence, certain bacteria in the bulborb's tongue can glow a pale blue. This attracts smaller creatures, such as pikmin to the mouth, where it is inevitably consumed.

Louie's notes

Boil the tongue in water until it stops glowing. This will show that you have killed the bacteria, meaning no deadly infection. Once boiled, fry it on a grill. Drizzle with worsteshire sauce and barbecue sauce. When it is finally finished, but between two Breadbug buns and with a slice of cheese. This will create a down-to-earth flavor that cannot be beat.

How to Beat

This is a version of the Emporer Bulblax, so use the same bomb rock technique used to kill a regular Emporer Bulblax. However, there is one very major change. Although it uses the same lick attack used by an Emporer Bulblax, the glowing tongue makes a difference. All your Pikmin will attract toward its tongue in the moment before it starts licking. This is very dangerous, so I'll tell you what to do: Stun it with Orange Pikmin and Bomb-rocks.
