DELTA is a robot researcher in Pikmin Forever who crash-lands on PNF-404, and who meets with Captain Olimar, becoming the second playable leader in the story. She is the latest test of the KHA explorer-technology relations program: a robotic space explorer that can function alongside other explorers with adaptive reasoning and feeling. She begins her research mission to PNF-404 with Edward as a standard helper robot with simple synapses and understanding; it crash-lands and she falls into the the Scalding Thicket. However, as she finds Olimar and ventures on in the story, her synapses develop into a complex mind that can understand even the complexity of the Pikmin and Onions. As DELTA progresses, she figures out much about her and the mission's design: for example, she notes that she has a spacesuit (which she ordinarily would not need) to make her appear more approachable than a regular robot skeleton. She also figures out that the KHA eventually intends to replace its space program staff with robots. Toward the end of the story she becomes self-aware, and enjoys the friendship of Olimar and Loucap too much to let them be replaced by robots.

DELTA as a leader (contains spoilers)
In the game, DELTA is unlocked as a leader by defeating the Emperor Bulblax in the Emperor's Crown. She can run a bit faster than other leaders; other leaders keep up with her when following her, making her best for trekking long distances. Her whistle also expands faster than other leaders' whistles, although hers lasts a bit less time. These differences do not exist in Challenge Mode, but they can be allowed in Sandbox.

At the end of the Flurry Shelter, a cave in the Forbidding Precipice, there is a boss called a Helmeted Iceweavil that immediately captures DELTA. Once the boss is defeated, DELTA is left severely damaged. The Canyon of Moonlight requires three explorers; Olimar insists that DELTA must be repaired before venturing to the final area to look for Edward. It takes 10000 metal units to repair DELTA, although the Hocotate ship can be salvaged for all 10000 with 100 Purple Pikmin.
