Acidic Dirigibug

Main article: Acidic Dirigibug

The Acidic Dirigibug is a species of dirigibug that attacks using acid rather than of bomb rocks. It is green, like the Careening Dirigibug, but it has purple eyes and blue balloons. The Acidic Dirigibug regurgitates balls of acid that are covered by a thin membrane so they retain their form until they are dropped by the creature, where they burst upon impact with the ground or anything else it hits.

Anode Dirigibug

Main article: Anode Dirigibug

The Anode Dirigibug is a dirigibug that regurgitates high-voltage energy balls to attack using instead of bomb rocks. The body of the creature is brown, its eyes are green, and it has yellow flotation sacs, of which are electrified. The energy balls it spits out will detonate upon impact with a surface, creating a short-lasting but powerful surge of electricity on the ground where it landed.

Careening Dirigibug

Main article: Careening Dirigibug

The Careening Dirigibug is a legless creature that slowly drifts through the air by utilizing colorful, balloon-like air sacs attached to what can be considered its head. It is most often found underground, in caves. They slowly drift around in wide arcs at a similar height to Swooping Snitchbugs. However, when approached by a Pikmin or leader, a Dirigibug will quickly produce a bomb-rock from its mouth. It will then try to approach the Pikmin or leader, and once close enough it will stop to toss the bomb-rock to the ground, activating its timer. The bomb-rock can kill Pikmin, damage leaders and enemies, and destroy hazards, but it does not hurt the Dirigibug if it is high enough in the air. However, the bomb-rock can still damage the creature if it is grounded. If the Pikmin or leader exits the Dirigibug's territory while it has a bomb, it will continue to hold it for some time until dropping it anywhere.

Caustic Dirigibug

Main article: Caustic Dirigibug

The Caustic Dirigibug is a relative of the Acidic Dirigibug and drops balls of water. Caustic Dirigibugs have blue bodies and air sacs, and red eyes. When approached by leaders or Pikmin, the Caustic Dirigibug will regurgitate a ball of water that is covered in a thin membrane and bursts upon impact with anything or any surface.

Darkfreeze Dirigibug

Main article: Darkfreeze Dirigubug

The Darkfreeze Dirigibug is a rare and dangerous enemy that can seriously decimate Pikmin populations. It is black with purple stripes and has neon blue eyes. It also has lots of spiky appendages and the balloons on its head look like a jetpack. Its attacks are similar to the Juggling Dirigibug's, but the bombs it throws explode as soon as they hit the ground, creating icy explosions that quickly freeze and kill Pikmin.

Enraged Dirigibug

Main article: Enraged Dirigibug

The Enraged Dirigibug has a red body, light green eyes, and its red balloon sac is engulfed in a blistering flame. Unlike its cousin, the Careening Dirigibug, it drops explosive fireballs on the ground which scatter upon contact. Every Pikmin, except for Red Pikmin will be burned.

Flaming Dirigibug

Main article: Flaming Dirigibug

The Flaming Dirigibug is a flame-based species that drops fireballs.

The Floaty Snetterskee is a large relative to the Dirigibugs that can grab and eat your Pikmin, and it's balloons are unpoppable, unless it is hit with bomb rocks.

Freezing Dirigibug

The Freezing Dirigibug has a light blue body, green eyes, and its light blue balloon sac is covered in a bone-chilling aura. Unlike its cousin ,the Careening Dirigibug, it drops snowballs on the ground which scatter upon contact.

Hazardous Dirigibug

Main article: Hazardous Dirigibug

The Hazardous Dirigibug is a member of the dirigibug family that regurgitates not bomb rocks, but Volatile Dweevils. Its appearance and behaviors are identical to that of the Careening Dirigibug, but when Pikmin or leaders approach, the creature will spit out a Volatile Dweevil and drop it on the ground to attack them.

Hot Dirigibug

Main article: Hot Dirigibug

The Hot Dirigibug is a species to the Careening Dirigbug. It uses Fireballs instead of Bomb-rocks. The Fireballs result in an explosion in which non-reds will instantly die; the red pikmin are resistant to the explosive fireballs.

Juggling Dirigibug

This creature is an older species that has but one large air sac shaped red like a hot air balloon. It has a green body like it's relative, the Careening Dirigibug, but this one has six arms instead of two. It rapidly spits out bomb-rocks and catches them with its hands, then juggles them around until it sees a target, in which case it will set a few of them off with a correct scratch from its claws. Then, when the bomb is at just the right point, the insect will release it, throwing it accurately at its target where it will likely explode on contact with the ground, or right before it hits the ground sometimes.

Minion Dirigibug

Main article: Minion Dirigibug

The Minion Dirigibug is a relative of the Careening Dirigibug. It looks like one but with no balloons and it has legs and it is on the ground. It usually produces bomb rocks like its predecesseor, but it will insert them into its cannon and will proceed to shoot at you, so it is advised to take caution when around this creature.

Rocky Dirigibug

Main article: Rocky Dirigibug

The Rocky Dirigibug is a relative of the Careening Dirigibug that regurgitates heavy boulders to attack using. Its body is brown in color and it has blue eyes and orange flotation sacs. The Rocky Dirigibug is usually found in deserts and underground caves. When approached by leaders or Pikmin, the Rocky Dirigibug will quickly produce a boulder from its mouth, but will struggle to carry the boulder and drop it after a short time.

Spork-clawed Dirigibug

Main article: Spork-clawed Dirigibug

The Spork-clawed Dirigibug is a biomechanical dirigibug. It is a large, airborne creature with a set of balloon-like air sacs above its head. Its body is colored silver but shows signs of rust. Its claws resemble sporks, hence the creature's name. The main attacks it uses are dropping bomb-rocks and electrical orbs.

Sprinting Dirigibug

Main article: Sprinting Dirigibug

The Sprinting Dirigibug is a land-based dirigibug, unlike most of its relatives. It quickly scurries around an area, jumping over most obstacles and enemies in its path, sometimes even accidentally triggering traps. They occasionally trip, which sends them sliding along the ground until naturally slows down or it hits an obstacle such as a wall or an enemy, recovering and resuming its run shortly thereafter. The Sprinting Dirigibug kills Pikmin one-at-a-time by skewering them on one of its front legs and then stuffing them into its mouth.

Sticky Dirigibug

Main article: Sticky Dirigibug

The Sticky Dirigibug has an orange body, purple eyes, and its orange balloon sacs are covered in a syrupy substance. Unlike its relative, the Careening Dirigibug, it drops balls of sticky goop on the ground which splatters upon impact, creating a pool of adhesive where it landed.

Toxic Dirigibug

Main article: Toxic Dirigibug

The Toxic Dirigibug has a purple body, orange eyes, and its purple balloon sac is covered in a slimy poison. Unlike its cousin ,the Careening Dirigibug, it drops toxic on the ground which scatter upon contact. Every Pikmin, except for White Pikmin will be poisoned.
