Marked Spectralid

– This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin: Redemption, created by Sir Pikmin.

Marked Spectralids are difficult to tell apart from Unmarked Spectralids at first because they sport the same set of colors but with black spots at the tips of their wings. They behave identically to normal spectralids but when a consumable object like a pellet, egg or enemy corpse is in their sight, they swarm it and cover it in a cloud of spectralids. If they aren't fought off, they'll eat whatever that object was without giving Pikmin a chance!

Glitch

If you do manage to kill of a large amount of the spectralids and then present them with a large enemy corpse, the few remaining will still manage to "eat" it. When this happens, the object actually falls through the floor, out of a sight and off camera. If Pikmin are too close, they'll be crushed or thrown down through the floor along with the object. At first, one might assume that this is simply the Pikmin being eaten in the feeding frenzy similarly to the Breadbug. Oddly enough, Pikmin killed through this glitch are listed as "Killed by Explosions."
