Gas pipes are common obstacles in Pikmin 2. Gas pipes emit purple gas that harm non-white Pikmin on touch, but also do not harm Captains. They are found as a orange pipe blocking areas, sometimes even in walls or in bridges, which White Pikmin can be set to attack. Doing so will cause the gas pipe to be damaged to the point where it stops emitting gas, allowing non-white pikmin to pass through.
