The rename

It doesn't really make sense to have it named Clawed Candypop Bud when the only game that has it doesn't call it Clawed. It'd be like renaming the Golden Candypop Bud to Yellow Candypop Bud since Pikmin 3 and 4 stopped calling Candypop Buds with color-specific titles. En Passant 23:15, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

The only reason the page is named as such is that it was the best way to prevent users from making several different articles about the same candypop, by naming a fanon candypop after the fanon Pikmin they create. Besides, it's not like someone can't add Clawed Candypop Buds to their game with that name or a different one in the future. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy icon.pngCheepy-Cheepy  13:22, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

How does this not apply to canon Candypop Buds, though? Particularly the ones for Rock and Winged that weren't named and use fanon names right now? We need to stick to one or the other on allowing names other than that of the Pikmin type. En Passant 19:36, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
It doesn't apply to the official candypops (up to P2 at least) because everyone knows their unique names. Now, for the P3 candypops, you got me there. I guess I figured that, since they were official candypop buds, they could get unique names too. What could be done about the Rock and Winged candypops is making redirects for them that the fanon candypop naming scheme applies to. ...despite them being official, yet technically unnamed. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy icon.pngCheepy-Cheepy  13:35, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
By that, do you mean treating them the same as fanon types and moving them to Rock and Winged Candypop Bud and redirecting other names? That's the move I support if we're sticking to the current policy, especially since Pikipedia doesn't even have unique pages for those two anymore (they redirect to the plain Candypop Bud page). I like unique names, hence asking here to be able to use one, so if the answer is no on the grounds that the unique names used here are pre-established, then Rock and Winged (and Ice, for that matter) Candypop Buds should be consistent with that. Oh, I meant making Winged/Rock Candypop Bud redirects that point to the Carnation/Slate Candypop Bud pages, but that could work too. Again, I just thought those candypops (and the Ice Pikmin's, whenever that page will be made) should have a bit of special treatment regarding naming. ~ Cheepy-Cheepy icon.pngCheepy-Cheepy  14:49, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

I think my way would be better, since those unique names would be arbitrary and are currently named after whoever made a page for their variant first, which is generally never a good wiki precedent to set. En Passant 19:25, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
