The Hungry Cave should be the first cave in this area that players travel to.
Upon landing in this area, the player has much more free reign on what to do in the overworld than before; there are many different varieties of enemies and Pellets to build up your Pikmin count. Once you've accumulated enough, the Hungry Cave should be the first cave in this area that players travel to. It is pretty much necessary to go there, as you need more Purple Pikmin to squash the paper bag barrier that blocks off the Overgrown Outpost, and the boss's treasure, the Prototype Detector, is very useful for finding treasure. While the Hungry Cave is not necessarily required (provided that you grinded Purples back in the Dry Seabed), the Overgrown Outpost is, as it contains a new type of Pikmin for you to discover.

Waterfall Lake is the second major area in Pikmin 2.5. As is the case with all the areas in this game, Waterfall Lake is a version of the Awakening Wood from Pikmin 2.5, with a few notable differences. This version is much more tropical, and is filled with water. The landing site in this area is where you would find the Blue Onion in Pikmin 2. Likewise, Blue Pikmin are discovered first here as well.

Area Plot
