The Desand is a desert-native relative of the Hantre that grows only in oases and appears in Pikmin: The Continents. The serration on their leaves prevents even most herbivores from eating them, although Camalaks can feed on them without issue. Desands can survive harsh sandstorms because of their two-meter-long roots, which not only anchor them firmly into the desert sand but also allow them to absorb nutrient-rich water under the surface. Parts that break off of a Desand typically grow back in three days.
