The Desert Cradweeler is a crudalu adapted to life in the desert, in Pikmin: The Continents. They typically live by oases and remain active so long as the water in them remains; if it dries, it buries itself under the sand and hibernates for fifty days or until a predator finds it, prompting it to flee, or the water returns, prompting it to resume activity. To protect themselves while hibernating, Desert Cradweelers cover themselves in a gooey, sticky substance that is very soft but surprisingly dense. When they finish hibernating, they use their pincers to cut a way out and emerge from the sand. Desert Cradweelers can easily camouflage into sand or dig into it to hide from predators, although this isn't always effective. Their pinch is as painful as that of their beach-native relative, the Cradweeler.
