Pikmin 3, as imagined by Hinsburg, introduces a few new characters to the Pikmin cast.
The Mayor
The Mayor of Hocotate is responsible for Olimar's new mission to PNF-404 which is experienced in Pikmin 3. His visual appearance is somewhat referential to Waluigi from the Mario series, in keeping with how Olimar and Louie reference Mario and Luigi in their designs and names. The Mayor seems to be similar to the President, sending Olimar back to the Planet of the Pikmin without even allowing him to see his family again, and refusing to let Louie come along on this new expedition, due to wanting to send his daughter, Elizabeth, with Olimar instead.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth is the Mayor's daughter and the secondary protagonist of Pikmin 3, in a similar role to Louie in Pikmin 2. Her design is somewhat based on Princess Peach from the Mario series, much like how most other Hocotatian characters reference Mario characters in their names or designs. Similar to Louie, she is briefly separated from Olimar during the events of the first day, but quickly regroups with him and becomes his co-worker along with the Pikmin in the exploration of PNF-404.
