Dwarf Smoky Bulborbs appear in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet and are, unlike many dwarf bulborbs, actually grub-dogs. They are juvenile Smoky Bulborbs and have the characteristic smoke-enveloped backside which Pikmin can not touch. The young grub-dogs are highly aggressive and always mobile, and can eat Pikmin at an above-average rate compared to other dwarf bulborbs.

“A recent expedition has confirmed the sudden appearance of adolescent smoky bulborbs in the wild. Highly aggressive, they will ferociously attack any intruders that come into their habitats. As they are young, they have yet to develop the navy blue stripes of their older relatives.”
