Attacks Emanates light, causes panic

The R.V. Pine is a large tree-shaped life-form that can be found in Pikmin: Colors. The entity resembles a snow-covered pine tree, and is actually quite similar to a Christmas tree specifically, as it is covered in colored lights across its branches, and has one single star-shaped light at its top. The bristly needle-covered branches that make up the tree's body are impervious to attack, and it can only be damaged by attacking the star-shaped light, which can only be reached by Yellow Pikmin and Winged Pikmin, as other Pikmin types are not thrown high enough. Sometimes, an R.V. Pine is found near a raised platform, which provides enough height that other Pikmin types can be thrown onto the Pine's star and damage the life-form.

When an R.V. Pine is bothered due to Pikmin drawing near it or its star being attacked, it will begin to charge up light into itself, as the lights covering its branches will begin to flicker and alternate, and its star-shaped light at its tip will glow brighter and brighter. After around five seconds, when the star is pure white, it will discharge a massive burst of light, which creates a massive flash around the plant. Any Pikmin that are attached to the plant's star will be thrown off of it and to the ground, where they will lie stunned for an extended amount of time. Any Pikmin close to the R.V. Pine but not attacking it during this time will be startled by the flash of light, and will begin to panic. Leaders will be temporarily blinded and dazed as well, and if the active leader is affected by this flash of light, the player's screen will turn white and make it impossible for the player to see anything. This bright overlay effect will slowly fade over ten seconds, and will be fully gone after these ten seconds have passed.

When the R.V. Pine's star is attacked enough to deplete its health bar, the star will suddenly shatter, and all of the lights, needles, and branches coming off of the main trunk will fall apart and disappear. The central trunk of the tree will be the only part that remains, and it will quickly fall sideways onto the ground, where this log can then be collected as a corpse.

In Ultra-Spicy Mode, the R.V. Pine's light is supercharged. Any Pikmin attacking the star when it releases its flash of light will be instantly incinerated and die. Meanwhile, Pikmin standing around the entity will be set on fire instead of simply caused to panic, and they will die quickly if a leader does not save them.

The full name of the R.V. Pine is the "Radiantilated Voluminiconifer Pine", though its name is abbreviated to simply "R.V. Pine" in all displays except for Olimar's notes on the entity.

When an R.V. Pine is idle, it can be observed to alternate and flicker the lights on its body, similar to holiday light displays. During this time, if the active leader draws close to the Pine without getting close enough to trigger its attack, the player can hear quiet music chiming from the tree, which is also likely meant to connect to its similarity to holiday displays.

R.V. Pine's music

An R.V. Pine will play one of several quiet music samples while idle. These musical motifs are likely related to the Pine's holiday display theme.
