{{notes|Olimar's notes|Claw Pikmin / Pikminidae asphalax / Pikmin family. This species of Pikmin is interesting. I thought only Yellow, Rock, and Green Pikmin dug the fastest. This one has proven me wrong; with those claws, they are the best! They can also use their claws for offense, striking twice at any threat. In addition, they have eyelids, which are needed for their subterranean lifestyle so dirt, sand, or other particles can't get in their eyes while they dig, which be problematic. They also have spikes on their torso that acts as armor, making creatures that try to eat them spit them out again, and bubbles no trouble at all. That said, when spat out, they lose their spikes
