The Dangling Splurchin is a splurchin found in the files of Hey! Pikmin. Its large, round body is red and covered in striped spikes, and attached to the Dangling Splurchin's body is a long, white appendage surrounded by four long, gray legs. Presumably, it would have served as an obstacle much like the Large Splurchin and would have hung from a ceiling, swinging around or constantly changing its distance from the ceiling to which it is attached.

The Dangling Splurchin appears in Pikmin: Wide World as a splurchin that is able to survive outside of water and is exclusive to Arid Oasis's dens and caves.
Dangles from the ceiling of a cave, and suddenly drops down when Pikmin or leaders draw near. Sways like a pendulum in their direction, and skewers any Pikmin or leaders that are thrown or forced into it, also skewering any it drops onto or swings into. Like most other members of its family, can only be killed using a bomb rock and yields only Sparklium. Olimar notes it has evolved to live outside of water.
