The Frostcake is a species of shellcake appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It has the standard body structure of most shellcakes, of its species, sharing the black eye stalks and puck shape. However the Frostcake is unique from other shellcakes in two ways; first its the only shellcake to disguise itself, taking on the form of one of the refuse from the Flavorful Flatops family. The disguise can be seen through if you look closely at the beady black eyes underneath the supposed confectionary, which unfurl when the shellcake gets discovered before spawning its signature cream covering. This disguise often causing the treasure gauge to pick up false signals, similar to the false signals caused by the Gildemandwee and Gildemander. This body isn't actually made of dough though, but rather the body is made out of soft clay, giving it a resistance to fire and heat. Second this makes it the only shellcake to have varied sizes, with smaller Frostcakes having smaller health pools but faster speed while the larger Frostcakes have the opposite effect, though all sizes share the same weight, seed value, and sparklium cost. The Frostcake has the exact same battle style as the other shellcakes, that being to try and crush your army of Pikmin with their flat bodies, however the Frostcake is different from the other shellcakes in that it can be attacked on any side, however it will also perform its signature attack when it lands on any side, rather than just on the side containing an elemental substance. When it lift its body, it leaves behind a sweet and creamy sludge that can either be white, brown, or pink depending on what the shellcake disguises itself as. This substance works in a similar way to the Gildemander's false gold, as it distracts Pikmin into breaking the sludge over the shellcake. The sludge will slow down anyone who crosses it, so if makes the Pikmin who enter it weak to other attack weather that be from other Frostcakes or the surrounding enemies. This makes fighting a group of Frostcakes super annoying as they can quickly scatter your army into doing meaningless tasks while they are free to crush any stragglers remaining. The best way to deal with a Frostcake is to make it wet with water, as this washes off the sludge on one side of the Frostcake, so when it lands on that side it won't make the sweet sludge. If you wash off both sides your now left with a shellcake lacking any elemental abilities, meaning that all you just need to do is attack it with the crushing immune Alloy Pikmin who will quickly crumble this bad cookie.
