Jewelbombs are strange enemies. They are jet black and encrusted with pink gems, and have a grasping claw on a long arm. It carries a Bomb-Rock in its claw, which is infused with sticky black liquid. When provoked, it will make the Bomb-Rock explode, shooting this liquid everywhere. The blobs of slime stick everywhere and Pikmin that get stuck cannot be freed unless whistled out. The Bomb-Rock is regenerated shortly after, even when the Jewelbomb is dead.
Pikmin X: Deep Freeze
Jewelbombs return in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze with some changes. It now only has two legs plus a grasping tail that it uses to roll bomb-rocks towards Pikmin like bowling balls, which are able to knock Pikmin over as they move. Because the creature cannot generate bombs of its own, it intercepts bomb-rocks placed or thrown by Pikmin to send back at them; otherwise, it can stab Pikmin that come too close with its tail and eat up to three of them. Jewelbomb bomb-rocks do not splatter sticky slime in this game.
