Maggot Whiskerpillars are small, maggot-like Whiskerpillars. They emerge from the ground when a food-based treasure or corpse nears. They will then eat into the object and stay there, emitting poison gas. At this point, the only thing that can get them out is White Pikmin. When they are killed, they disappear into a puff of gas, making them unsalvageable.

How to kill
Before they burrow into an object, they can be swarmed and killed by any kind of Pikmin. After they enter the item, they must be evicted by White Pikmin.
